Undergraduate and cadetship program - frequently asked questions:

When will I commence work?
Our cadet intake starts in early February. In addition, if you are recruited outside the formal recruitment process, we will confirm dates with each individual and coordinate it with the business unit.

How many positions are available?
Each office has its own needs and positions therefore; it will vary between offices and is reviewed on an annual basis.

In the Sydney office we are accepting 2 Cadetship for 2010.

How can I prepare for an interview?
Most critical part of preparing for an interview is to gain an understanding about us by researching and learning as much as possible so that you can evaluate your skills, interest and experiences.

You should prepare any questions to ask at the end of the interview. We recommend you to get to the location a few minutes early to give yourself time to collect your thoughts.

Please bring any documentation that will assist you, such as, academic transcripts, written references etc.

What is the interview process like?
Candidates who are successful will be invited to participate in two rounds of interviews. The interview process will be structured with behavioural questions one-on-one with the Managing Directors.

How important are academic results?
Academic results are very important, especially with mathematics, computer studies and geography subjects. It is desired that you have undertaken extension mathematics. Overall, we value a well-rounded individual with a variety of interests.

What type of work will I be doing?
Depending on your selection on how you will complete your studies will enable us to establish the extent of complexity of the work you can undertake initially. You can expect to get involved in both surveying and geospatial information systems working with the latest technolgy including CAD, 3D modelling software, GIS software and relational databases on distributed networks for office work and in the field using state-of-the-art electronic measuring instruments. You will occasionally be travelling all over Sydney and interstate to our other offices and clients' sites.
