OMNILINK is responsible for the development and ongoing support of the Asset management System (AMS) at the Department of Education and Training (DET). OMNILINK has been involved with this project for the past 12 years, and has recently been contracted out to 2009. OMNILINK is also responsible for all spatial data management of the NSW Department of Education and Training involving the accurate recording of all spatial data sets used within the AMS application. Overall AMS manages 3000 sites, with over 100 data layers.
OMNILINK tasks include recording of all data received from external sources and the updating of a spatial data registry. OMNILINK is the key point of contact for spatial information within the Department and is charged with the sourcing and brokering of numerous data sets from other government and commercial organisations. With all data that is managed, core metadata is recorded.
Fulltime staff are allocated to the project, with specialisation in the areas of: Oracle Database and Forms development, GIS integration, reporting and system support. OMNILINK is also engaged as the Departments Project Manager for AMS.
