New Zealand Fire Service; Spatial Enterprise Architecture.
The New Zealand Fire Services (NZFS) has a requirement for a 3-5 year Enterprise Architecture and IT Roadmap which will consolidate core systems and business units, while maintaining costs and provide integration for improved outcomes as set out in the Strategic Plan 2005-2010.
NZFS selected Gen-I / OMNILINK as there Enterprise Architecture partner that will deliver and work alongside its team to implement an IT Systems roadmap to help achieve its stated IT Objectives.
The key drivers for this project are;
Alignment of NZFS IT strategic roadmap and business imperatives
Reduce the maintenance burden of running multiple systems, which utilise different technologies
Simplify data maintenance and provide opportunity for cost reductions
Understand the requirements to enable ESA compliance for key NZFS systems’
The first engagement was to investigation into NZ Fire Services current and future business needs for spatial information and ESA compliant datasets incorporating advice on the architectural and technology options that would best suit NZ Fire Services needs for Spatial information, and that will be used as input to the broader Enterprise Architecture considerations, and thereafter providing roadmaps for each of the above.
